Women's Tennis To Play Charlotte Sunday At Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's tennis team gets back in action Sunday at 9:30 a.m. CT with a match against Charlotte indoors at the Samford Tennis Center.
The Blazers (0-1) are looking to get into the win column after opening the dual-match season last Saturday with a 6-1 loss at 25th-ranked Alabama. Giorgia Romeo provided the UAB point with a win at No. 3 singles.
Charlotte (0-1) opened its season last Saturday with a 7-0 loss at Wake Forest. The 49ers, which were picked third in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, played Saturday against Samford.
Sunday's match is the first of three straight contests in Birmingham for UAB, which will host Kennesaw State Feb. 12 at Lakeshore Tennis Center and Arkansas State Feb. 13 at Brook Highland Racquet Club.
