BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB women's tennis team will play one of the two matches originally on its schedule for this weekend.
Saturday's match with UT Martin, scheduled to be played at Brook Highland Racquet Club, has been cancelled because of a forecast for continued inclement weather in Birmingham. The match will not be rescheduled.
The Blazers will return to the court Sunday to play Murray State as scheduled. The match is set for 1 p.m. CT on campus at the 11th Avenue South tennis courts, located between 16th and 17th Street South.
Sunday's match is the fourth and final home event of the spring for UAB, which has also had three home matches wiped out by weather.
UAB is 4-5 on the season after going 1-2 in its recent three-match California swing. The Blazers opened their trip West with a win over Conference USA foe Southern Miss before falling to UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge.
Murray State enters the weekend at 6-2 on the season, coming off back-to-back wins over SIU Edwardsville and Tennessee State. The Racers are scheduled to play Friday at Jacksonville State before heading to Birmingham.
Following Sunday's match, UAB will play its final seven regular-season contests away from home, leading up to the Conference USA Championships, slated for April 16-18 in Houston, Texas.
