BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - In their last meet before the Indoor Conference USA Championships, the UAB track and field team is headed to LSU for the Tiger Twilight. The meet is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on Friday.
"We use these last meets to prepare for the conference championships and to sharpen up," said UAB head track and field coach Ray Stanfield. "For some girls this is a last speed effort or one last chance to improve a seed time. These last week meets have always paid off for us."
The majority of the events at the meet will consist of sprints, hurdles, 4x400-relay and jumps. No mid-distance races are being held.
LSU, Louisiana-Lafayette, Jackson State, Southern Miss and Tulane are a few of the schools scheduled to compete against UAB.
The competition will be held at the LSU Carl Maddox Fieldhouse with the field events starting at 3 p.m. CT for the Blazers. The track events are scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m. CT.
