Two Players Dismissed From Volleyball Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.... Middle blocker Karla Wehrle and outside hitter Kristy Smith have been dismissed from the UAB volleyball team, head coach Melinda Claiborne announced today.
"Both players violated team rules which were outlined in a contract they signed," said Claiborne. "The matter is now closed and we have moved on."
Wehrle, a junior from Roseville, Minn., played in 16 matches and Smith, a sophomore from Carleton, Mich., played in nine matches for the Blazers this season.
