Wilcox Signs Two in 2018 Class

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UAB women's golf head coach has announced the addition of two newcomers as part of UAB's class of 2018 signing class on Friday afternoon.
"I am thrilled with the 2018 recruiting class," Wilcox said. "Our team will benefit immediately from their experience."
Kendall Johnson | Plant City, Fla.
Kendall Johnson is currently a sophomore at junior college powerhouse Daytona State. As a freshman she was tabbed First Team Western Conference, Alvin A. Casey Outstanding Golfer of the Year and a District, Regional and National Champion.
In the classroom, the Plant City, Fla., native earned the Norman Schwarzkopf Leadership Award, was a Congressional Classroom Recipient and given the Plant City High School Ring of Honor.
"Kendall has had a great two-year experience at Daytona State," Wilcox said. "She has been on a national championship team and our team will benefit immediately."
Lexie Dawson | Woodstock, Ga.
Dawson hails from Woodstock, Ga. As a junior golfer she played on the prestigious Southeastern Junior Golf Tour (SJGT) where she placed first at the 2017 Timberline Classic held in Montevallo, Ala. Additionally she placed third at the 2017 SJGT Sea Island Junior Classic, fourth at the 2017 Chattahoochee Junior Classic and fifth at the 2017 UGA Golf Course Junior Classic and the 2017 Brunswick Junior Classic.
"Lexie has quite a lot of junior golf experience which will help her transition to college golf," Wilcox said.
